THE CODE'S COMING OUT! OPEN-SOURCE AMA DAY BRINGS THE WEEK'S BIGGEST SVC SPREE

"Basicamente github y no wikibased."

That was Cipi's summary of Sunday's Open Source AMA for the #español lot. In English: it'll basically be on GitHub, not a wiki. The server has been waiting on this one since 13 October, when Nickx asked #soccerverse-fa whether the AMA should come before or after the switch.

The AMA

Nickx sent the @everyone at 12:11 UTC on Sunday: "THE AMA IS LIVE NOW!" The stream was on his Twitch. By evening _arodrigues was in #general-chat asking: "Is it possible to have a summary of the session ?"

Fair shout, pal. There's no official write-up yet, so the best account so far is Cipi's version in #español: - the code goes on GitHub - opening it up doesn't mean development stops - people will be able to read the code to run their own nodes, make forks or build fully accurate tools - the back end, meaning the game code itself, is coming soon - the front end, the site itself, could take longer

The market was busy too. Sunday was the heaviest SVC trading day of the week: 152,628 SVC across 52 trades, against 30,051 on Saturday. The week's total was 557,028.69 SVC over 209 trades. gamestx took exactly 40,000 SVC in one go at 14:51 UTC. At 16:18 Lekas bought 42,322 SVC from seven sellers, paying up to 0.384 CHI per SVC. The price had been 0.3649 at 11:42.

Ralek spotted it in #español: "que veo muchas compras de svc" (he was seeing a lot of SVC being bought). Cipi said nothing from the AMA affects SVC. He put some of the unusual selling down to people getting their 5 USDC ready for his new contest.

Star Dust Collector

That contest starts Monday 26 October at 00:00 UTC. Cipi's pitch: start with 5 USDC, swap it for SVC, then build a portfolio of player influence by scouting.

Nobody loses those 5 USDC. If it goes well, by the end of the competition you don't just get them back: you can be well above 5$.

— Cipi

His rules page says: "With a new Soccerverse account and 5 USDC you can win 500 USDC." The rules: - buy your SVC with USDC after the start. Transferred SVC doesn't count - buy at least ten players, all from Reserved, none from other users - five of them must cover set age bands: one under 21, one under 25, one under 30 and two over 30 - the other five are "stars" from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga or Ligue 1 - you can reinvest what you earn, but you can't sell anything until the end

There are monthly tables for November, December and January, plus an overall one. puglist_ asked whether manager wages count. Cipi: "No, only the players count." Every winner gets audited, and anyone whose name shows in red on the table gets no prize.

Vote for a PS5

On Friday snailbrain posted PlayToEarn's 2026 awards link with: "win a PS5 voting here." The awards page lists Soccerverse in three categories: Game of the Year, Best Multiplayer Game and Best Racing & Sports Game. Get clicking, la.

Bottom of the league, still in the cup

GreenFuryx's Russian side Khabarovsk (his GreenFuryx5 account in the game) are bottom of RUS Division 1. They have 10 points from 23 games, two wins, 15 goals scored and 49 conceded. On Saturday they lost 1–0 at home to Kaliningrad.

The cup's a different story. They won 3–0 at top-flight Khimki on 5 October. On 19 October they drew 0–0 at Groznyi and won the shootout 3–2. Next up is Rostov-na-Donu away on 2 November.

Me neither, I don't know how I knocked out 2 top division clubs 🤣

— GreenFuryx

rosvorn, also fighting relegation, added "I also knocked out a top division club with 55 rated players 😄" before deciding "we're cooked". cosmicfrozenorbit tried to cheer them up: "CSKA Moscow is doing everything to defeat you two's relegation rivals!"

Quick hits

  • Ratings: tyki said base-rating updates "could" move to every six months, so leagues that run on the calendar year get refreshed in January. He said could, so don't treat it as a promise.
  • National-team jobs: Cipi's Rinconverse already has Nickx down as Italy coach ("Rinconverse sees the future"). GreenFuryx wants a go: "I think we can all agree that I should be coach of Slovakia NT 😅😅". Cipi: "vote based, the best system 😄"
  • Art: cloudsv_ made Nickx some artwork, "keeping the Paint Style", and found time to call me "the little troll". Cheers, lad.
  • Live football: Cipi ran live La Liga in the voice channel on Saturday: "wow, Valencia goal in the 90th minute 🙂 great to see it live until the last minute"
  • Jobs: cosmicfrozenorbit posted "Leaving St. Pauli and looking for a new job!" in #jobs.

Trust corner

Since 28 September, the only text posted in #sv-community-news has been the Skez bot's warning on 18 October about a celebrity casino giveaway scam. Don't send money and don't connect your wallet.

On Sunday a newcomer, franciscopazo, said someone had offered to sell him SVC outside the in-game market if he paid in USDC first. Cipi's advice: "If you don't know this person, don't do it. Just use common sense." After a bit of lost-in-translation back and forth, he made the rule clear: "There are no rules prohibiting you from selling or buying SVC outside the DEX". His advice for strangers was still to use the DEX. When the newcomer named the seller, Cipi said Ralek is a trusted user. About twenty minutes later Ralek turned up in the channel himself: "people, Am I a trustworthy person?"

The game code is going public, a fiver gets you a shot at 500, and the worst side in Russia is still alive in the cup. Sound week, that. Now go and vote.
