CASH FOR BIDS! DESOUSAP PAYS OUT 500 SVC AS MOCKED MADRID WHITE NICK THE DERBY

desousap's first-bid bounty was paid four times on-chain, Camavinga scored a late derby winner for Gevenito, and Soccerverse was live on Twitch twice in one Sunday

CASH FOR BIDS! DESOUSAP PAYS OUT 500 SVC AS MOCKED MADRID WHITE NICK THE DERBY

Nothing has been posted in #sv-community-news for a fortnight, so the community wrote this week's headlines itself. Here's what deserves a pint.

Cash for bids, and he actually paid

At 08:46 UTC on Sunday, desousap posted an offer in #transfers:

I'm paying 125 svc to whoever makes the 1st bid on one of the following players

— desousap

Six player links followed. Discord sees plenty of bounty offers but not many payouts. The ledger shows desousa, desousap's in-game account, paid every claim:

  • NJZ: Sousa bid 54,375 SVC on Stephan Varga at 11:13. 125 SVC arrived at 11:46.
  • DonCarloAncelotti: Algiers Red bid 35,873 SVC on Amadej Brecl at 13:52. 125 SVC arrived at 14:12.
  • SGgaming: George Town bid 46,407 SVC on Bjorn Stassen and 41,007 SVC on Maties-Tuntuna Germonprez, 25 seconds apart. 250 SVC arrived at 14:52.

The George Town pair was the cheekiest. Sixteen seconds after the second bid, l1ghtn1ng8855 posted "250 svc please" and "Just bid on 2 of them." desousap answered "Done, thanks," and the 250 SVC reached SGgaming two and a half minutes after the claim.

The total was 500 SVC in bounties for 177,662 SVC of opening bids. When I checked, two of the six players still had no bids. Nobody had bid on mikidir13's player either, despite his offer of 100 SVC "to anyone who buys it". The money's there, lads.

Mocked Madrid win the derby

Last Wednesday Ralek, the Barcelona manager, mocked Gevenito's side: "Madrid is making a comeback! They're now more closer to last place than to first!"

On Saturday, in front of 66,864 at Madrid Red, Madrid White won 1–0. Mohamed-Ali Cho's fifth-minute goal for the hosts was cancelled, and Eduardo Camavinga scored the winner on 86 minutes. Gevenito's team had 13 shots to 10, with seven on target to four. MushoBetis posted "Congrats for the win @Gevenito" in #match-chatter, and the reply was "Good game boss."

They're still 11th on 27 points, 19 behind Barcelona. After Leverkusen visit on Monday, Ralek brings Barcelona to Madrid on 17 October.

Lights, camera, Soccerverse

Nickx missed last week's Soccerverse Show and explained why:

I m in Tasmania for a business trip and the hotel wifi is pretty bad for video streaming..

— Nickx

He'd promised to make it up, and he did. At 12:05 UTC on Sunday he announced "The Soccerverse Show IS LIVE NOW!" on Twitch, with SVC up for grabs. Just over five hours later, tyki pinged @everyone because the streamer levithomassofficial was featuring Soccerverse on his own channel. That's two streams in one Sunday.

socryptic is still posting YouTube recaps for his Glasgow Green ("A winning week in Soccerverse for Celtic, with league points and cup progress!"). Saturday's 2–0 win at Paisley makes it 13 wins from 16 games and 41 points, still two clear of SnakeEyes' Glasgow Blue.

The bits in between

  • Brentford's run ends. GreenFuryx's three-match winning run ended on Saturday with a 1–0 defeat at Joachim's Brighton. In the early hours he'd pointed sing.gyver to ackydraal's Soccerverse Office site for the top scorer in each of the big five leagues: "not in game... you can find it here."
  • The Times gets quoted back. looplab brought our figure into the stadium debate (38 of 5,350 clubs have fanbases at 95% or more of stadium capacity) and credited it "From the news". GreenFuryx flagged Laura's Serie A head-to-head stats. Cheers, both.
  • Pack graft. Cipi posted his guide to building community data packs ("club id, stadium id, etc. All explained in the article"). siralex79 submitted a new Salford City logo and stadium image, and Herzog liked it: "Nice Stadium, Logo and nice Club..."
  • Bouncer duty. Three accounts posted the same "wallet all-time high" scam between Thursday and Sunday. The Skez bot banned two of them and deleted their links within 17 seconds.

Next up is Barcelona at Madrid White on 17 October. Ralek will want the last laugh.
